Omagh families to quiz gardai

RELATIVES of those killed in the Omagh bomb will today question gardai as to why information relevant to the investigation was not passed on to the RUC.
It will be the first time campaigners and the Garda team investigating the atrocity which killed 29 people and unborn twins have met.
Michael Gallagher and eight other people who lost loved ones in the blast on August 15, 1998, will question Assistant Commissioner Kevin Carty.
Mr Gallagher, whose son Adrian died in the bomb, said yesterday it would be a significant meeting.
He added: "There are quite a few things we want to ask Mr Carty and his team. This meeting has been a long time coming and there are a lot of questions need answering.
"In particular, we want to know what happened about the seven individuals who were supposed to appear at Carrickmacross Court on charges relating to the bomb in 1999, but all charges were dropped.
"Even the man alleged to have stolen the car which carried the Omagh bomb never even appeared on car theft charges."
The Monaghan meeting will also be attended by the Detective Superintendent heading the Garda probe, Tadgh Foley.
