Omagh families' joy as Real IRA disbands
FAMILIES of the Omagh bomb victims last night welcomed the Real IRA's decision to disband but said: "Let's hope they stick to their word."
Michael Gallagher whose son Aidan died in the 1998 bomb blast, said: "It's great news. Let's hope this is the end of their murderous campaign.
"We've heard them say they will disband in the past. It remains to be seen if the people on the outside support what the prisoners have said.
"I think they are trying to save their own skin as a plea bargain attempt."
Stanley McCombe, whose wife Ann was killed in the 1998 attack, said: "I welcome the disbandment of all terrorist organisations in Northern Ireland.
"But I do not want this to be the end of justice for what happened in Omagh. The murderers must be caught with or without ceasefires."
Mr McCombe said the recent bomb blast in Bali brought the awful memories of Omagh flooding back.
