Relatives are right to fight
A RAY of light finally shone for the families of the Omagh bomb victims yesterday.
Four years after the atrocity which left 29 people and unborn twins dead, the bereaved took their first steps on the road to justice.
Writs were yesterday served on four men and a fifth, Colm Murphy, has yet to be served.
The guilt or innocence of these men has yet to be proved. But they will have every opportunity to defend themselves.
The heartening aspect of this case is that the families of the Troubles' largest single atrocity are going out and fighting for justice.
It is unfortunate that the families were faced with no option but to embark on civil proceedings.
But the public has responded to appeals for cash and they collected more than �l million to carry out this legal action.
At the end of the day it may prove a costly road to go down but hopefully it will be worth it in the end.
