THIS IS JUST A START IT GIVES US HOPE

This is just a start.. it gives us hope
By MICHAEL GALLAGHER, father of Omagh victim Aidan

NOTHING we can do today will bring our loved ones back to us.
Nothing will ease the pain the injured and traumatised suffered and will continue to suffer for the rest of their lives.
Nothing will give breath back to the people who died, many of whom were just starting out in their lives.
And nothing will make the perpetrators of the Omagh bomb sorry for their bloody actions. Yet today, for the first time in three-and-a-half years, I'm looking forward with some hope in my heart.
I am as near to feeling happy as I have since Aidan died because our fight for justice, for so long ignored by the British Government, has turned a corner today.
But this is not the end.
After almost four years of struggling to get some sense out of the system, this is just the beginning. Now it's up to the legal team to take the case forward. We've given these people a chance to participate in this process.
Whether they do or not is up to them.
We are determined to have justice and some measure of understanding of what happened at Omagh.
