Flanagan reveals astonishing number in Omagh bomb he had to set FREE
SIR Ronnie Flanagan yesterday revealed there were SIXTEEN members of the gang that carried out the Omagh bombing.
One other terrorist, Colm Murphy, a 49-year-old millionaire businessman, will be sentenced today for his part in the conspiracy.
The PSNI chief told the families of the bomb victims details of the probe into the 1998 atrocity for the first time. He said: "I want nothing more than to bring the bombers to justice. The sadness is we know who committed this crime."
He also rejected criticism from Police Ombudsman Nuala O'Loan over the conduct of the investigation - but she said she stood by her scathing report.
