Leeds boss is victim's champion

NINE-YEAR-OLD injured bomb victim Emmet mclauglilan's eyes lit up yesterday when the manager of his beloved Leeds United walked in and sat by his hospital bed.
Emmet, From Buncrana Co Donegal, is still in intensive care in the Erne hospital in Enniskillen after being burned in the Omagh atrocity.
When Leeds boss George Graham heard Emmet was a big fan of the Premier League club, he made a flying visit to bring him a shirt signed by all his players.
"He's still poorly, but the visit seemed to brighten him up a bit," said George.
"I think he was hit overawed and was very quiet, but you could see the light in his eyes."
In addition to bringing gifts from the team, George also made a promise to Emmet.
"I told him once he was better we would bring him over to Leeds to meet the players and come training with us," he said.
"We were in Dublin to play Shelbourne and I was pleased to fly here and see the boy.
"What took place was a horrific act. All of us thought things like this were a thing of the past."
