THE media were asked to stay away from the funeral of mother-of-four Veda Short, 56.
A spokesman for her family said Veda had always hated reading about funerals or watching them on the TV news. "It was just something she never liked to do," he said.
The road leading up to Seskinore Presbyterian Church was sealed off earlier in the day by RUC officers. Hundreds of mourners stood outside the church.
Veda died with her workmates after they were evacuated from Watterson's lingerie department where she had been working when the bomb warning came through. Also killed were colleagues Geraldine Breslin and Ann McCombe, who will be buried today.
Less than two miles away, the funeral of 17-year-old Jolene Marlow had taken place earlier in the day.
