These are the Real IRA men with the blood of Omagh on their hands
Army Council dossier is leaked to The Mirror
A 12-STRONG gang of killers have the blood of Omagh on their hands, The Mirror can reveal.
They are the fanatics who think their sick cause is worth the 28 innocent lives that were snuffed out.
All 12 shadowy figures are on the Army Council of the Real IRA who planted the car bomb which tore the heart out of the small market town in a matter of seconds.
The Mirror knows WHO they are and WHERE they live - but we're not allowed to tell you.
For the Dirty Dozen are hiding: behind the law that they broke in such an abominable way. The law states we can't name them or identify them in any way as the murderers ... because in the eyes of the law they have done no wrong".
But a secret dossier from the security services lists them by name and address and has them tagged as bloodlust terrorists.
They are going about their daily business in the Republic as if they didn't have a care.
The Mirror has seen the wealth of details in each of the files about the 12 men and women - and the true extent of the terror arsenal in RIRA's possession. Most of the 12 are former Provos and some have served time behind bars for terrorist offences.
One of them is originally from England and has a string of convictions for firearms offences.
Another lives an ordinary life and pretends to be a loving family man. The RIRA has become a family affair, with a mother-and-son team as well as two brothers who farm along the border.
The ages of the ruling council, who use the front of the 32 County Sovereignty Committee to make their cowardly apologies, range from the early 20s to 50s.
Most are former members of Sinn Fein and one even found the notorious INLA too soft for him. Other members are also being closely monitored by gardai who say RIRA membership is concentrated in the North East of the Republic, although they have tried to recruit throughout Ireland.
A confidential guarded dossier of destruction gives details of bomb attacks including those at Moira and Portadown and links them to the group.
Recent bomb finds in the Louth area have also been attributed to the well-armed and dangerous organisation.
Backfired
Gardai intelligence sources say the Omagh attack has literally blown up in the faces of those who orchestrated it.
They believe RIRA did not intend to kill 28 people in Omagh but merely cause millions of pounds of destruction in one of Northern Ireland s last remaining largely untouched towns.
Now the bombers are running scared from a country who wants their heads on plates.
Some have been run out of their homes. And one of the dirty dozen was physically attacked this week.
