A SHOPKEEPER told last night how her life was saved by a young couple hunting for an engagement present.
Widow Eileen Curran was about to close her gift shop - just 10 feet from where the bomb exploded - after a traffic warden told her of the warning.
But the couple rushed in and asked if they had time to find a present for a friend.
Eileen, 56, said: "If I hadn't said yes I would have been blown to bits.
"I went back behind the counter. Just as the couple asked me how much a set of six glasses was, the bomb went off.
"The force of the blast sucked me through my shop window and out into the street. I could hear people screaming.
"When it all stopped the only things not damaged in the shop were the glasses the couple wanted to buy. They had held on to them."
Eileen suffered just a grazed knee, injured shoulder and concussion.
