I KNEW THEY KILLED MY GIRL

SCHOOLGIRL Brenda Logue went to investigate when she heard the sound of people being evacuated after the bomb warning - and paid with her life.
Brenda, 17, stepped out of the high street store where she was shopping with her mother and her grandmother and was caught by the full force of the explosion that ripped apart the town centre.
Her father Tommy spent all night at an emergency first aid post set up at Omagh leisure centre praying she had survived, but fearing the worst.
Pain
He was one of dozens of people who had anxiously gathered waiting to hear of the fate of their loved ones.
Then in the early hours came the news he had been dreading.
His fun-loving daughter was among the fatalities.
The names of the injured were posted on boards at the centre for relatives to see. Others who were waiting were taken aside to be told worse news.
His voice breaking with emotion and the pain of his loss showing in his face, lorry driver Tommy said: "I knew all along that she was dead.
"The front of the shop where I knew her to be was completely blown out. Nobody could survive that."
Brenda played in goal for a Gaelic football team.
Her older brother Sean, 20, spoke yesterday of his sister.
He said: "I loved her to bits.
"Now she is an angel and that is how I will remember her."
Brenda's uncle Padraig said he too feared the worst when he heard how close his niece had been to the car bomb, but had been hoping for a miracle.
He added: "You never think anything like this is going to happen on your own doorstep.
"Brenda was a great girl. Full of life."
