Meyer returns home after baby girl dies

SOUTH African prop Willie Meyer had to return home yesterday following the tragic death of his 14-month-old daughter.
Meyer's only child, Sonika, died after complications following a throat operation. He will be replaced by Brent Moyle who is expected to arrive in Ireland sometime today.
The minute's silence that will be observed at Lansdowne Road today for the victims of the Omagh bombing atrocity will now be extended to Meyer. Fans attending the game are being invited to contribute to the Omagh Fund established by the IRFU.
IRFU President Noel Murphy has made an appeal for contributions and in a message in the official match programme details of special bank accounts which have been sent up.
The account numbers are as follows: Republic of Ireland - IRFU Omagh Fund, Bank of Ireland, 2 College Green, Account number: 12839866, Sort Code 90-20-47; Northern Ireland, Omagh Fund, Bank of Ireland, Armagh. Account number:45577890; Sort Code: 90-20-47.
