TIME TO NAME REAL IRA MAN
Time to name 'real IRA' man
"THERE can be no hiding place for Omagh butchers". So ran The Examiner's editorial headline.
Rubbish! They could stay in a Hotel for example, for all the information your paper gives us. Indeed they could just stay at home, if it were not for the English newspapers, which published details about the house in Dundalk.
People have the right to know that they are not serving him petrol, dinner or anything else. Could he have continued to operate in the past if the public were aware of who he was? With great difficulty, I would imagine. But your paper gives us no way of recognising him. Perhaps I already do business with this 'businessman'. From your paper, I cannot find out, because you do not inform us of what business it is.
Elsewhere your paper says "the 49-year old chief who leads the Real IRA is a Dundalk businessman and cannot be named for legal reasons".
More rubbish. The other papers, The English ones, did name him. Why could your paper not have done the same? What are the "legal reasons" that prevented your paper from naming him yesterday.
