Game deferred over bombing
THE FAI yesterday agreed to a joint request from Finn Harps and Derry City to cancel tonight's League Cup meeting of the two sides at Finn Park in Ballybofey, as a mark of respect to those killed in the Omagh bombing.
The funerals of three boys takes place today in Buncranna and, accordingly, the clubs felt that they would wish the game postponed.
It is rescheduled for Tuesday next August 25 at Finn Park (7.30pm ko).
Other changes for this weekend's cup fixtures see the Shelbourne versus UCD game scheduled for Tolka Park on Saturday night, brought forward to Friday night at Tolka Park (7.45 pm ko), while the Derry City v Fanad United game at the Brandywell on Sunday has been put back to 6pm from 3.15pm.
