Where is the moral standing of Omagh District Council to innocent victims of terrorism?'
Sir,
I write in reply to the recent article in the local papers about the council's decision to sever links with Sperrin Lakeland Trust pending the result of an inquiry into the death of three children under the health service. This I fully support.
But, what confuses me and hurts me as a victim is when a letter was sent to Omagh District Council some time ago requesting the removing of a photo of a person who announced himself as the chairman representing the political wing of the RIRA - the very people who plotted and murdered 31 innocent people here .
This person was followed to London by the bereaved of the Omagh bomb and caught in an upstairs room colluding with other terrorist supporters - people from Turkey and Cuba.
Omagh District Council members have stated they did not support or recognise this republican breakaway group, but continued to display such a person's photo in a public building.
Where is the moral standing of Omagh District Council to innocent victims of terrorism?
In supporting innocent victims will they come out and support a full public inquiry into Omagh?
