OMAGH BOMB ACCUSED IS TO BE RE-INTERVIEWED BY PSNI
Omagh bomb accused is to be re-interviewed by PSNI
POLICE want to re-interview South Armagh man, Sean Gerard Hoey, accused of involvement in the Omagh bomb outrage of August, 1998, Craigavon Magistrate's Court has heard.
The 34 year old unemployed electrician from Molly Road, Jonesborough, appeared before Magistrate Alan White, via a video link from Maghaberry prison.
During the two minute hearing, the court was told that the authorities plan next month to apply to Lisburn Magistrate's Court for Hoey to be returned to police custody for further questioning.
No details were given as to why police want to re-interview Hoey, the only person from Northern Ireland to be charged in connection with the Omagh bombing, the worst terrorist atrocity of the Troubles in the province.
Hoey presently faces three charges, ranging from conspiracy to cause explosions between 1997 and 1998, to membership of the Real IRA.
The charge connecting him to the Omagh bombing on August 15, 1998 alleges that between March 12, 1997 and August 16, 1998, Hoey had possession of explosives, namely a timer power unit, with intent to endanger life.
