Never lose sight of the victims of terrorism Methodist president
ON the fifth anniversary of the Omagh bombing, the Rev. Jim Rea, president of the Methodist Church in Ireland, said the event was a reminder to all "never to lose sight of the victims of terrorism".
The president asked that on Friday people around the province should "take a moment to reflect and pray for those who are still hurting and whose grief will never diminish."
The Methodist President reminded all those in the community that "Omagh and other tragedies like it is a reminder of the need to reestablish a local Assembly based on consensus, so leaving no vacuum for paramilitaries of any kind to operate. Such an Assembly would also send a clear message to all, that violence has no part to play in the future of Northern Ireland."
The president also praised the government's action in providing financial support to the Omagh families in their pursuit of justice.
