OMAGH MEMORIAL PLANNED IN BUNCRANA
Omagh memorial planned in Buncrana
A MEMORIAL to the victims of the Omagh bombing is to be unveiled in Buncrana in August, the fifth anniversary of the 1998 atrocity.
The plan, which is included in Buncrana Town Council's budget for 2003, is to be implemented, in conjunction with a local memorial committee in Omagh.
The committee has already submitted a number of suggestions to the local authority, including the possible collaboration of an Irish artist and a Spanish artist on the project.
Buncrana Town Council is currently examining planning and funding issues and has approached Inishowen Rural Development Limited in this regard.
Inishowen Rural Development Limited will discuss funding options with councillors when the project proposal is completed in the coming months.
