SERVICE WILL MARK SECOND ANNIVERSARY OF OMAGH BOMBING
Service will mark second anniversary of Omagh bombing
A SIMPLE religious service and wreath laying ceremony will be held on Tuesday to mark the second anniversary of the Market Street bombing of Omagh.
The service will be preceded by bell ringing from 3pm to 3.09pm, after which there will be a minute's silence.
The chairman of Omagh District Council, Mr. Liam McQuaid, will then give a short address and lay a wreath, and those gathered will be led in prayer by the members of Omagh Churches Forum.
The service will finish with the reciting of the Lord's Prayer, and those who wish can lay their own floral tributes.
To facilitate the rebuilding of Market Street, the Garden of Remembrance has now been moved to Drumragh Avenue, off the main thoroughfare and adjacent to the First World War memorial.
It is there that the service and wreath-laying ceremony will be held.
