In May, the Prince of Wales hailed Omagh as a "remarkable community" when he made a return visit to the town as part of a two-day tour of the Province. He said he was enormously impressed by the regeneration work and had been determined to come back to see how everyone was getting on.
Omagh bomb victim, Claire Gallagher(16), met Kirn Phuc who I became world-famous in 1972 when she was photographed as a nine-year-old girl running naked and screaming from a napalm bomb. Kim was a guest of Children in Crossfire which seeks to help children who are the victims of violence.
The Omagh fund broke the �4m barrier with a series of substantial fundraising efforts by sporting bodies, including �750,000 from the Gaelic Athletic Association.
