EVENING OF REMEMBRANCE
EVENING OF REMEMBRANCE'
THE Omagh Baha'i Community has held an 'Evening of Remembrance' for all those affected by the bombing on August 15.
The Baha'is had intended to hold a meeting to celebrate the 100th anniversary of their faith in the British Isles. However, that was postponed as a mark of respect following the August atrocity.
The 'Evening or Remembrance' took the form of Baha'i readings and prayers. At the end of the programme, music was performed by the Castlederg Cross-Community Choir, and by three members of Village Earth, a singing group from Limerick.
Songs included 'Ave Verum', 'Whispering Hope', 'Lift thine eyes', Tears in heaven', 'Amazing Grace' and 'Peace will shine'.
The evening concluded with refreshments, and each family attending was presented with a copy of a booklet 'Hope', containing the writings of the founder of the Baha'i faith.
