A TEAR FOR OMAGH (POEM)
A TEAR FOR OMAGH
We'll not forget that Saturday,
When evil had it's wicked way.
A bomb was planted in the street,
Where families and friends did meet.
We shed a tear for Omagh.
A peaceful, small community,
That lived it's life in harmony,
Why did these lives have to be taken?
Leaving families forsaken,
We shed a tear for Omagh.
For those who've lost the ones thy love,
Gone to Heaven, up above,
We feel, but cannot know their pain,
So much hurt, and what was gained?
We shed a tear for Omagh.
For the injured, left to tell,
We hope they'll soon be fit and well,
Let's pray the tables will be turned,
And from this grief, a lesson learned,
We pray for peace in Omagh.
Let that peace from here expand,
Until it covers all the land,
Then from this time of tragedy,
Find new and lasting harmony,
No more, a tear for Omagh
