Aughnacloy golfers raise £800 for Omagh Memorial Fund

A CHARITY open stableford took place at Aughnacloy Golf Club on Saturday in aid of the Omagh Memorial Fund. The competion was sponsored by Alexander Windows Aughnacloy and Stronge Saws, Clogher. An excellent turnout of golfers turned out to play in the beautiful sunshine.
RESULTS were as follows:
Men: 1 Paul Dynes, 2 Roy Nichol, 3 Ivan Gillespie, 4 Jim Nicholson.
Ladies: 1 Alexis Davidson, 2 Jody Gault, 3 Cathy Gault.
At a charity fundraising event in the evening the club caption, Richie Young, thanked everyone for taking part and to the sponsers for providing the fine array of prizes.
The charity evening then continued with 'keyboard Country' providing the music. A guest artiste, Jackie Nelson, from Banbridge was in attendance and provided excellent entertainment during the evening.
Aughnacloy Golf Club has thanked all those who sponsered or supported the event in any way. In particular Noel Beattie, received special thanks for providing the music free. The sum of £800.00 will be passed on to the charity committee next month at a special competition at Omagh Golf Club.
The next event on the calendar at Aughnacloy is the Guinness Open Stableford which takes place this Saturday. This will be a gents open and a ladies competition. Visitors are welcome.
