Omagh floral art society

MEMBERS of Omagh Floral Art Society were welcomed to their September meeting by the chairman, Mrs. Briege Kelly.
The meeting began with a minute's silence for those killed in the Omagh bomb on August 15th, and Mrs. Kelly said many messages of sympathy had been received from other floral art societies.
The Omagh society has decided to send £100 to Tyrone County Hospital in memory of the victims.
Sympathy was also expressed to Mrs. Moss on the death of her husband, and good wishes for a speedy recovery were sent to Mrs. Jean McCay, who was in hospital.
Mrs Kelly told members that Mrs. Joan Lockhart would be the demonstrator at the open meeting in October, and she asked members to bring items for the sales table that night.
She went on to introduce Mrs. Thelma Atwell, the guest demonstrator for the meeting, who took as her theme "Autumn Tints", and produced a number of colourful exhibits, including a triangular arrangement of foliage, yellowing beech leaves, tree heather, rose hips, hypericum berries, hydrangea and sedum heads set in a hollowed out log, complemented by a piece of the hollow tree trunk and a spray of small tomatoes.
Another arrangement was a graceful 'Hogarth Curve' using berberis sprays, lemon carnations, orange-coloured alstroemeria and bronze chrysanthemums in a tall copper jug.
Mrs. Atwell was thanked by Mrs. Kelly and the winners of the competition "Autumn Bounty", were as follows:
