FIVE SENSES ALTERNATIVE HEALING CENTRE OFFERS HELP FOR BOMB TRAUMA VICTIMS
Five Senses' alternative healing centre offers help for bomb trauma victims
YOUNG people and adults traumatised by last month's bombing are invited to come together for a special 'open day' on Saturday at 'The Five Senses' alternative healing centre in the town's Castle Street.
The Five Senses, which aims to promote mental, emotional and physical wellbeing, is opening its doors for the first time this weekend.
Refreshments will be served all day free of charge, and qualified therapists are offering help, advice and individual treatments, also at no cost.
At 10.30am there will be an introductory talk and demonstration on yoga, and at 2.30pm a Tai-Chi demonstration will take place.
The Five Senses incorporates a vegetarian caf, local crafts, an area for people to talk, workshops and treatment rooms. Natural therapies are also promoted, and relaxation classes will be offered in the coming weeks.
Mary Gormley, owner of the premises, said that, while the open day was mainly aimed at the victims of the bombing, everyone was welcome.
"Anyone can come along on Saturday if they are interested. And, if they want to make any monetary contributions, these will go towards future treatments for victims," she said.
She has also appealed for volunteers to help out on the day. Anyone interested can contact her at the Nature Trail, Bridge Street, tel. 240388
