PAST PUPILS' ASSOCIATION EXTENDS SYMPATHY

Past pupils' association extends sympathy

The Loughmulharn Past Pupils' Association has extended its sympathy to the families of those who were killed in the Omagh bombing, and to those who were injured.
The association had organized a reunion of pupils from the former Drumquin school on the day of the bombing, but, as a mark of respect, the evening's entertainment planned in the village social centre was cancelled.
A member of the association's committee pointed out that families of past pupils were victims of the atrocity.
"We are deeply saddened by the terrible suffering inflicted on the Skelton and Boyd families, who were part of this reunion occasion, and we again extend our sympathy," she said.
She added that the food which had been prepared for the reunion supper had been distributed to the incident centre at Omagh Leisure Centre, and to some wake houses.
The cancelled social event and book launch is planned to take place later in the autumn.
