OMAGH'S SORROW (POEM)
Omagh's sorrow
Today my brow is etched with frown,
As I think of those in Omagh Town,
Life is so short, it travels fast,
It did that day, with evil blast.
Young and old did lose their life,
Victims of our dear land's strife.
And yet for them 'tis not the end,
They play with God, they are his friend.
At this time, many words are said,
As we shed our tears, and lay our dead.
Those lives so happy, with gay and fun,
Have left this world, their job is done.
Today the dead are looking down,
To all that's happened in Omagh town.
They'll see the maimed, they'll see the pain,
They'll beg to God, please not again.
God will listen, I have no doubt,
He'll help to sort this evil out.
It may be free for just a time,
But it will pay for this monstrous crime.
It need not hide, it is no use,
For what it did, there's no excuse.
Those faceless people who laid this plan,
Must face their actions, if they can.
Let's hope this action will be your last,
Let not there be another blast.
We'll think of daughters, parents and son,
We'll pray for each and everyone.
Justice for all, we heard you say,
But was there justice on that day.
And yet you people with iron rod.
Must face the day you meet your God.
Please try to copy those who live,
Who midst their pain try to forgive.
Surely your life can't be the same,
So please stand up and take your blame.
Then God's face it will look down,
At those who suffer in Omagh Town.
'Tis then his face will turn to smile,
'Twas for such people he bore his trial.
