Pastor seeks support for the 'alternative way ahead'
The September issue (issue 15) of the Little Acorn magazine is now in newsagents and Christian book-shops.
This issue features an article by Dr. Brendan McCarthy, pastor of Omagh Community Church, written just days before the Omagh Bombing. The Little Acorn has published the article as filed by Dr. McCarthy on August 14, in which he calls for people to support "The Alternative" - a prayer initiative to heal our nation and make a personal commitment to be a peacemaker.
Several other contributors, including Presbyterian ministers Rev. Steve Stockman and Rev. David Montgomery, look back at a summer of violence and offer hopes of a new way forward.
Also included in this issue in an interview with Belfast singer Brian Houston who has recently released his first worship album 'In the Words of Dr. Luke'. In a frank and enlightening conversation with Sue Locke, Brian Houston shares his faith, his fears and his future hopes and plans.
