FLOWERS TO FORM LASTING MEMORIAL

Flowers to form lasting memorial

Floral tributes to the dead and injured, which have reached a stage of deterioration, are being collected this week to be dried for production into paper, the district council said this week.
The paper made from the flowers will then be used in a creative art form, as a lasting memorial to the victims of the atrocity a council spokesman said.
Meanwhile, all cards and messages attached to the floral tributes will be retained and displayed as part of a permanent memorial, which will be open for viewing by the public in due course.
A large selection of poems received are also being collated for publication, in aid of the memorial fund.
