PILLARS OF LIGHT
Pillars of Light
by Cate Taylor
Thirty-one pillars of light standing tall to catch the summer sun.
Each one to represent a life so cruelly taken 10 years ago.
Thirty-one people, including twins yet to be born, killed when a bomb turned the fun and laughter of a carnival to heartache and tears.
So many people hurt physically and emotionally on that day.
I see the obelisk with its heart of Tyrone Crystal marking the very spot where the bomb exploded.
All I can do is to pray that God is with all who are still suffering.
That they will feel God's presence to comfort them and guide them through the hardest days.
Only god knows why the Real IRA came to Omagh on that day 10 years ago.
Lord be with the people of Omagh as they face the tenth anniversary together.
Show them how to live with the hurt and the pain caused by evil.
I ask this in Jesus' name.
