The Duke of Abercorn said: "This week, as we approach the 10th anniversary of the Omagh Bomb, is a moment of deep significance. It is a time for us to remember not only the victims, but also their bereaved families and the injured.
"It is a time to remember - reflect, the countless other people whose lives have been hurt and irrevocably scarred.
"It is a time to remember with gratitude those remarkable volunteers, who being present at the scene of the atrocity, demonstrated great courage and resilience in the aftermath.
"It is also time to remember, with equal pride and gratitude, the dedication and skills displayed by the surgeons and nurses at our County Hospital.
"It is also time, despite such destruction, to hold fast to the power of all that is positive in our community.
"For a new light of understanding and possibility is indeed breaking through in all our structures.
"It is also time for us to take heart and to strive to live our lives in a positive way. By doing so, those whom we have loved and lost will not have died in vain".
