MANY STILL SUFFERING THE SCARS THAT DAY BROUGHT - BUCHANAN
Many still suffering the 'scars that day brought' - Buchanan
West Tyrone DUP MLA, Tom Buchanan, has extended his sympathy to those who suffered - and continue to suffer - as a result of the 1998 Omagh bomb.
Speaking this week, Mr Buchanan said: "As we approach the 10th anniversary of the terrorist bombing in Omagh town centre, on Saturday, August 15, 1998, I wish again to extend my sympathy to all those who lost loved ones in the atrocity and also to those who still suffer the physical and mental scars as a result of the bomb that Saturday afternoon.
"For all those who suffered as a result of that day, the 10th anniversary like every anniversary will bring back to them the awful events of August 15, 1998. It will be a difficult for everyone and for all the town of Omagh as we recall what happened to our fellow townsfolk by the cowards who planted the bomb that day.
"I call on our community to come together in total solidarity to ensure that those terrorists who carried out the bombing that day, are brought to justice in order to bring closure to this terrible crime and so that the families can seek to move forward safe in the knowledge that those who killed and maimed their to answer for their crimes.
"I again pledge my support for this pursuit of justice for all those who have been affected by the bomb that day. Over this 10th anniversary period, my thoughts and prayers will be with all those who have been affected and those many who are still suffering the scars that that day brought".
