JUDICIAL REVIEW SOUGHT BY POLICE ASSOCIATION

Judicial review sought by Police Association

THE Police Association is to seek a judicial review of the Police Ombudsman's report into the Omagh bomb investigation.
The association represents members of the Police Federation, Superintendents Association and the Association of Chief Police Officers.
The chairman of the association, Jimmy Spratt, said his members felt they had no alternative but to seek a judicial review in order to have the report's "inaccuracies and unfairness" considered in a non-political forum.
Mr. Spratt said some of the contents of Mrs. O'Loan's report had caused offence to many in the police service.
