Controversy as hard to bear as physical pain'
ONE of those hurt in the blast, Donna Marie McGillion, said that all the controversy in recent weeks had been as hard for her as any of the physical pain she had had to bear.
Donna Marie said that, for her, the most important thing was to get on with her life.
"I felt I had done that, so far, but it's like a merry-go-round we keep on being fired back in and not allowed off. We are battered from one politician to another, from Nuala O'Loan to Ronnie Flanagan and we are caught in the middle and we have no way out. I want off this road now. Yes I'd like to see the people brought to justice so that they are brought out of society and be a deterrent for anybody else who wishes to engaged in this type of activity, but I'm fed up with being thrown back into it again.
"I have enough to contend with. I have to walk down the street every day and bear these scars and people turn and look at me and this is not easy.
"We will never ever forget. We have started to put our lives back again and this is all fired up. It is much, much more difficult than any pain I have endured in the past three-and-a-half years."
She said she really did not understand all that had taken place and was not interested in comments about who was telling the truth.
