WE GAINED LITTLE FROM MEETING - WILLIAM GIBSON
We gained little from meeting -William Gibson
Mr. William Gibson, whose daughter Esther died in the blast, said he felt that little had been gained by the meeting with the Chief Constable.
"We would have been better staying at home, we got nothing. As far as we were concerned it is one against another [O'Loan against Flanagan] If she had not brought it up, they would have done nothing at all."
He said that Sir Ronnie Flanagan had given assurances about what would be done and added "we will wait and see."
There had been inadequacies in the police investigation, Mr. Gibson went on.
Asked how happy he was with what he had heard, Mr. Gibson said: "I was not happy at all, no way could you be happy."
After three-and-a-half years only one person had been convicted, Mr. Gibson said. It did not seem to him that much had been done north of the border to bring those who carried out the attack to justice, he added.
