The beginning of May saw the families bereaved by the Omagh bombing still coming to terms with the destruction that was unleashed on the town's memorial gardens.
Culprits ran amok through the scared garden ripping out plants and flowers and hurling them over the perimeter fences. Bins and benches were also overturned in what was labelled a frenzied attack.
Politicians, churchmen and relatives of the bereaved all expressed their revulsion at the attack on the garden at Drumragh Avenue. It was a spot used for quiet reflection by many who have suffered as a result of the August 15, 1998 tragedy.
Messages of support came from as far away as the White House and Washington.
