Father of terror victim helped Omagh bomb injured
THE father of the latest terrorist murder victim in Northern Ireland is a paramedic who helped some of those injured in the Omagh bombing, it has emerged.
Teenager Gavin Brett was shot dead as he stood with friends outside a GAA club on the outskirts of Belfast on Sunday night.
The 'Red Hand Defenders' claimed it carried out the attack.
It has also emerged that Gavin's father, Michael, was at the scene within a few minutes and tried desperately to save his son's life.
Witnesses have spoke of how Mr. Brett rushed over to where two soldiers had put his son into the recovery position and tried to resuscitate him.
Mr. Brett is an experienced paramedic working with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and has treated those injured in many terrorist atrocities, including the Omagh and Shankill bombings.
