DESPAIR TURNS TO HOPE FOR FUTURE
Despair turns to hope for the future
TWO pictures of one little girl display two very different emotions and offer hope for the future.
A few days after the horror of the Omagh bomb atrocity a bewildered six-year-old girl was captured on camera clutching flowers outside Watterson's drapery shop, three popular members of whose staff had been killed.
That youngster was there like so many others to pay her own personal tribute, and hoping beyond hope for happier days ahead.
That photograph of the schoolgirl is now going to be there for generations to see on the cover of a CD Rom that has been compiled by Omagh's library service.
Well over two years on there was a happier look on the face of that same little girl, Kelly McCullagh, of Mountfield, now aged eight, when she attended the launch of the CD Rom.
And there was an especially beaming smile, as can be seen when the guest-of-honour, Mr. Terry Waite, signed her personal copy.
Perhaps both Mr. Waite, with his uplifting words that night, and Kelly's bright smile will both in their own way bring inspiration to the bomb bereaved and the people of Omagh area.
Kelly is the daughter of Raymond and Margaret McCullagh, Baroney Road.
