GIBSON WARNS OF COALITION TO OUST MP
Gibson warns of 'coalition' to oust MP
West Tyrone Assemblyman, Mr. Oliver Gibson, has said that the evidence is growing daily of the coalition of the SDLP/UUP and that this was the 'arrangement' to get rid of the 'No' advocate and sitting MP, Mr. William Thompson.
Mr. Gibson said: "In Omagh council area, this coalition has existed for 20 years. The policy of excluding the DUP was always self-evident to the great detriment of the council area. Remember it was the UUP/SDLP withdrawal of support for the maternity unit in the County Hospital that lost this facility to the Erne Hospital."
"At various times, they ganged up to prevent progress and all to the disadvantage of Omagh. Also remember, it was this same coalition that put Sinn Fein into the chair of Omagh council at the time of the Omagh bomb," he said.
Mr. Gibson continued: "Many prominent Unionist councillors and party officers are involved in this coalition, as well as a few aspiring minors. This is dangerous to the Union and the United Unionist efforts promoted by myself and the DUP to defeat the 'Yes' people who accept a United Ireland under the Belfast Agreement, which has delivered IRA/Sinn Fein into government to run health and education."
"This is not a good omen for the future of Ulster. I repeat that the vast majority of Unionists in West Tyrone have said 'No' to the Belfast Agreement and now we have that small vein who wish to deny and defy the democratic majority of Unionists. If we unite, we can win," he concluded.
