Atrocity avoided - or just delayed?, asks Gibson
LAST Thursday, there were two great threats to all of Northern Ireland, and both were from East Tyrone, local DUP Assemblyman, Mr. Oliver Gibson, has said.
He said the first was the foot-and-mouth scare that had disastrously proved positive, but the more deliberate and sinister was the abandoned Mark 16 Blockbuster intended for Carrickmore RUC station.
Said Mr. Gibson: Thankfully, because of engine failure, the van stopped in the beautiful Altmore forest.
"The Belfast Agreement is not delivering a United Ireland on schedule, therefore the IRA/Sinn Fein had once more to resort to their specialty of Blockbuster, murder, intimidation and mayhem.
"It is time to kill off once and for all, the myth about differences between the Provos and the real IRA. Just as Arafat has the PLO and his more extreme army wing, so too the IRA has its two armies. If the Belfast Agreement is not delivering, then we have the violent army action."
"The Omagh 1998 August bomb was such an event so as to make Blair, Ahern and Trimble jump higher. Yet Adams could claim his Provo army was on ceasefire," he said.
Mr. Gibson continued: "Since the Belfast Agreement is the rollout programme for a United Ireland, then the IRA/Sinn Fein will ensure the timetables and deadlines are met. Blair will, as usual, get scared about another London bomb, Ahern will squeeze and pressurise for the Provos."
"Remember his party has a political deal with the IRA/Sinn Fein, for future elections. At heart, Finna Fail and the IRA/Sinn Fein are one. In this scenario, David Trimble and his termite Unionists who are malleable, manoeuvrable and manageable will cave in and surrender even more," he concluded.
