Omagh relatives' fury over plan for march
RELATIVES of those killed in the Omagh bomb massacres had a two-hour meeting with the Irish justice Minister this week.
During the meeting, they outlined plans for the proposed legal action against those they believe carried out the attack. And relatives have vowed to protest if the Real IRA takes part in the Easter commemoration rally in Dublin this year.
According to reports, the march is organised by a Dublin man suspected of being the Real IRA's head of engineering. He is also reported to be a member of the ' 32 County Sovereignty Movement, the Real IRA's political wing.
It has also been reported that Francis Mackey, chairman of the 32 County Sovereignty Movement, will be a key speaker at the march.
Mr. Victor Barker, who lost his son James in the tragedy, said he would confront Mr. Mackey and ask him to condemn the Omagh bombing.
"I believe anybody committed to the democratic process and who is prepared to join in a democratic process has a right to express an opinion," said Mr Barker.
"What I take great exception to is that you don't accept the right of people to murder innocent civilians and their aims. That is not democracy, that is Facism," he said.
Mr. Michael Gallagher, who lost his 21 year old son Adrian in the explosion, issued a stern message to the march organisers.
"If we think it is worthwhile, We will go down to Dublin and look at the sort of people getting involved with the Real IRA/32 County Sovereignty Movement," he said.
"We will continue to draw public attention to this group and their failings in the area of human rights," said Mr. Gallagher.
"Wherever you are in the world, we will be there to challenge your right to fundraise and your record on human rights," Mr Gallagher concluded.
