A group of Freemasons from the Omagh area led by the Provincial Grand Master Mr. W. J. E. Dukelow met in the Omagh District Council Offices to hand over to the Omagh Fund some cheques contributed by Freemasons worldwide.
As well as that previously given by the Grand Lodge of Ireland one of the earliest contributions to the fund was a cheque for £1,000 from a Saudi-Arabian lodge which works under the American Canadian Grand Lodge based in Frankfurt, Germany, and one from the Freemasons of
Limerick for £IR 100.
These were handed over to Mr. Allan Rainey, vice-chairman of the council by the Provincial Grand Master.
A further cheque for £200 from the Grand Council of Knight Masons of Ireland was handed over by the Junior Grand Deacon of the Grand Lodge of Ireland, Mr. John Hadden (right), seated. Also in the picture is Mr. John McKinney, council's chief executive.
