JUDGES' TRIBUTE

Judge Haughton travelled to Omagh for the switching on of the Christmas lights, at which two of his children were part of the RTE choir.
He presented a framed citation and a bank draft for �3,300 for the Omagh Memorial Fund.
It included donations from judges at Supreme Court, High Court, Circuit Court and District Court level.
Miss Murnaghan said Judge Haughton had been moved by the stories of victims of the bombing, and had wanted to 'give a day' to the town. He travelled to the Omagh switch-on after sitting in court in County Kildare earlier in the day.
The framed citation, signed by the judges reads: "To the people of Omagh. The suffering that you all have endured and continue to endure has, without a doubt, left an indelible mark on os all. As judges, we are no less touched by the horror inflicted upon you. Mere words are inadequate to express the feelings that we share, and the great dignity with which you bore your loss is a shining light of example to all of humanity.
"You have been, and will remain, in our thoughts and prayers".
