OMAGH MOTION TO SUNDAY'S TYRONE GAA CONVENTION
Omagh Motion
A motion to Sunday's Tyrone G.A.A. Convention from the Omagh St. Enda's Club is calling on the G.A.A. to make their pitches available for games being organised for charitable purposes,
The proposal comes in the aftermath of a decision by G.A.A. headquarters at Croke Park not to allow a soccer game in aid of the Omagh Bomb Fund to be played at Healy Park.
That decision sparked widespread anger and has influenced the motion which will be brought by delegates from the Omagh club to Sunday's meeting and which is expected to receive much support from many clubs.
It says that in exceptional circumstances, when it is clear that the purpose is for fundraising for a charitable purpose, the Central Council may permit the use of G.A.A. grounds for the playing of any game.
