MANCHESTER UNITED SUPPORTERS CLUB RAISES £2,350
The local branch of the Manchester United Supporters Club raised a staggering £2, 350 for victims of the Omagh bombing at a table Quiz in the Royal Arms Hotel on Wednesday evening last Margaret Cummings, a member of the club, presenting a signed United ball to Omagh man, Aidan Quinn, whose bid of £150 topped the lot as it was auctioned during the quiz while Mr. Mervyn King (left), the club chairman, is seen hading over an autographed shirt to Dessie Roulston, Castlederg.
Mr. Roulston paid £500 for the privilege of owning the shirt worn by Irish international. Roy Keane, in the Euro Champions League rout of Brondby and signed by the full United squad.
In the background is Anne Connelly who won the evening's top raffle prize - an all-expenses paid trip for two to a football weekend at Old Trafford.
Mrs Connolly, who lives at Pinefields in Omagh, is pictured receiving details of her prize from supporters club official Mr. Bendan McLaughlin.
