SOCCER TOURNEY CANCELLED
OMAGH'S popular annual soccer tournament, the under-16 Martin Hackett Memorial Shield, has been cancelled in the wake of the town centre bombing.
The organisers say they took the decision to abandon the tourney due to start on Thursday next as a mark of respect to the bereaved and injured.
Spokesman, Mr. Patsy McKenna, said: "The organisers of the competition deeply regret the tragedy caused by the bomb in Omagh, and send condolences to the families of the dead and injured."
