A TIME TO MOURN (POEM)
A TIME TO MOURN
The flowers should close their petals,
And the leaves fall from the trees,
The birds should hush their singing,
And silence still the breeze.
The brook no longer gurgle,
And the sun cease shining down,
For the darkness oh what darkness,
Has come to Omagh town.
Let their be a time of mourning,
For the injured and the dead,
Of weeping and of grieving,
For those whose joy is fled.
Let there be a time of silence,
Of truly being still,
As we contemplate such sorrow,
Pray for healing and good will.
Pray for hope for Omagh's future,
For a healing of the heart,
For the light to shine in darkness,
By God's grace, a real new start.
