APPRENTICE BOYS PARADES ARRANGEMENTS
Apprentice Boys parade arrangements
IN VIEW of the importance of the first anniversary weekend of the Omagh bombing, representatives of the Apprentice Boys of Omagh met with members of the Anniversary Organising Group, involving representatives of the Omagh Self-Help Group.
Following the meeting, the local Apprentice Boys have agreed to parade from their traditional starting point at the Orange Hall along Drumragh Avenue to the bottom of Market Street where the parade will fall out. Members will walk to the temporary garden of remembrance at the bomb site to pay their respects and re-form above the temporary barrier in upper Market Street from where they will complete their traditional parade to the bus station to travel to Londonderry.
In addition, mindful of the commemoration events taking place on Saturday afternoon and evening in Omagh, the Apprentice Boys have voluntarily cancelled their evening parade through the town.
