BIG INTEREST IN 'VICTIMS OF TERRORISM' MEETING
A PUBLIC meeting planned for tonight (Thursday) in the Silverbirch Hotel at 8 pm has been generating a lot of interest, according to Mr. Derek Reaney, development officer for Derry and Raphoe Action.
The meeting will launch a group to represent the victims of terrorism in Omagh and Strabane districts.
Mr. Reaney said he had been contacted by a number of people from both areas supporting the setting up of the group.
Individuals from, in particular, the Donemana. Castlederg and Sixmilecross areas had contacted him offering their support and help.
Mr. Reaney said that a number of former members of the security forces had also contacted him.
'The 'Victims of Terrorism' group which will be launched tonight will act as a voice for those who have been forgotten. It will aim to highlight the suffering which still exists for those who have lost loved ones and also those who suffer both physically and mentally", he added.
