RECIPIENTS CONGRATULATED
THE Omagh Democratic Unionist Association has congratulated the local people honoured in the New Year's Honours list.
Said a spokesman: "We are delighted that the work of Dr. Clive Russell, Sergeant Philip Marshall and Mr. John McKinney in the aftermath of the Omagh bomb atrocity, and the vital contribution of the organisations which they represent, has been recognised."
He said, however, his party's information was that leading nationalists had snubbed the Queen by refusing to accept honours, and added that this "insult" was taken as deeply offensive by the majority of the electorate.
