Pilgrimage of peace'
A 'PILGRIMAGE of Peace' has been organised by the Omagh committee of the Women's World Day of Prayer.
The event comprises a Pilgrim Walk with prayer in each of the four main churches in Omagh tomorrow night (Friday), in memory of all those who were killed and injured in the bombing.
One of the organisers has appealed for a good turnout to the pilgrimage, which begins at 8.15pm in the Sacred Heart Church.
Those attending will be welcomed by Rev. Michael Keaveny, parish priest.
There will be 15 minutes of silent prayer there, before moving to St. Columba's Parish Church.
A welcome will be given by Mrs. Beryl Leeke, wife of the rector, Canon Charles Leeke.
And the President of the National Committee of Women's World Day of Prayer, Mrs. Joan Hannon, will also speak.
The 'pilgrims' will then make their way to Omagh Methodist Church, where they will be welcomed by Rev. Peter Good, before moving on to Trinity Presbyterian Church, to be greeted by Rev. Robert Heron.
The event is due to end at 9.30pm, and it is hoped that men, women and children will take part.
Committee members are asked to wear their badge, which represents the world, with a woman from each of the four continents kneeling in prayer.
